Win98SE new clean install on a Dell laptop. Installed wireless card, it finds the SSID, enter the 64 bit WEP, gets full signal strength, but no IP Address. When I go into winipcfg and renew, it picks up the IP address fine and works fine, until I reboot, then the same thing happens. Tried 2 different wireless cards - Netgear PCMCIA, and a Belkin usb. I'm going nuts - any ideas?

Is your network properties setup to auto find connection?

What setting are you talking about?

If you mean in the wireless adapter settings in the connection manager, they are set to autoconnect to my ssid.

What about on the wireless router? What kind of lease time are you assigning for the IP, and are you using DHCP?

You might want to try to assign a static IP hard-coding the MAC address of the wireless card in the router settings.

Thanks, guys - I found the problem. WEP key was corrupt - I assigned it a new one and now it works fine.
