I have several public contact folders used throughout our Exchange organization. Every day, without fail, some contacts end up getting deleted that are not being deleted by end users. When you pull up "Recover Deleted Items" they are there, and most of them have next to them the name of the person who it says deleted it, however, in many cases, these people did not delete the contacts. In addition, sometimes "Recover Deleted Items" will say the contact was deleted by "Generic User" which was a user account that I created and deleted two years ago. It is nowhere to be found in active directory. In addition to that, some of the contacts will have nothing at all in the field which says who deleted it.
I can recover them fine, but I don't know what's causing them to be deleted, or why it's picking random users to blame it on, including one I deleted, and sometimes none at all.
Has anyone seen this type of weirdness before?
Thanks!
