Last week I deployed a application on the end user's PC.

Same report on different PC's looks different.
e.g. the report on the end-user's PC has to be zoomed to be visble ,but on my PC it is visible clearly without zooming.Although I made the resolution on my PC the same as the client PC ,I cannot reproduce the same thing.

Does any one has a clue why this is happening

I've seen this happen before. It relates to the printer drivers installed on the client machine and if font substitution is being used on the printer. I wouldn't worry too much about it if the end product (the print out) looks the same.

The problem is that the print out is different. It is like what you see in the preview is on the print out.

Ok, sounds to me you have a problem with the printer driver. If the client machine does not support the font that you used in your report, it will substitute what it thinks is the closest. An annoying (but I guess necessary) thing that crystal does is it will set the report font defaults to whatever your printer supports.

Two things you can do:
1). On the client machine reinstall the printer driver and make sure it is the same as the printer driver you used on your machine.

2). Depending on your o/s check the font substitution table that the printer is using. I use Win2k and it is simple to go to start/settings/printers/properties/device settings/font substitution; then remove any substitutions that relate to the font you used.

If neither of these work, try changing the font in the report until you find one that looks ok. If you use Arial or Times New Roman you should be ok, unless you are trying to print a different language. If you are operating under a different language O/S (Chinese Windows) you will run into lots of problems unless you use one of these generic fonts. However, if the report is for Thailand you will have to write the report using the Thai supported fonts.

Hi,

You will also find a tick box saying:-

Use default printer settings.

Make sure this is unticked.
