Weird printing problem

All of a sudden, my apps (mainly illustrator) drop off the screen rather then process a print job. As soon as the progress bar comes up the app either disapears all together or shows me one of those XP bug report things. Anyone else had this problem? BEHOLD! As Steve Jobs introduces us the latest in desk-lamp technology!

Yes - IL10 on XP Pro.

I sometimes can recover with ALT-TAB or by going to the task manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL).
