I have this problem with only specific machines where they can only see the server if I type in the IP address of the server in the server location.

Seems to be primarilly on XP boxes. The novell is 5.1 and has IPX over netbeui and TCP enabled.

You probably need to either setup SLP on your network for IP Service location, or setup IPX and force the frametype on the XP machines. Also, Client 4.9SP1 resolves a few IPX and WinXP issues.

DHCP Option 85 populates the server field with the IP Address of the local server (as configured on the DHCP scope).

We use it at our place and it works well (we are IP only)
