I am new to IIS so maybe everyone can help me. I have an internal website that everyone can access by simply typing in the IP address of the server it resides on. How do i set it so they can type in the words internalweb and it will come up? We use WINS for name resolution. Please help!! Thanks in advance.

Hi!
You can do this with MMC (Microsoft Management Console). open Internet Information Server Right click on computer name click on new and follow the instaructions. Ypou can runn MMC from Stsrt->programs->Windows Nt 4.0 option pack-> Internet Information Server->internet Service manager.

Hope this will help. iis_guru@yahoo.com

If you are on a win2000 server you could also run Install DNS and anyone on your LAN would be able to type in what ever name you give it in DNS

Can on do that with DNS on winnt 4.0?

Im sure you can do this with NT4 i use IIS5 and DNS on a win2000 server.
