I presume you are refering to WebShield SMTP 4.5 MR1a.
If so bad news, the exclude senders facility does indeed exclude the address from all scanning including and filtering.
Excluding recipients from scan operations
In special situations you may want to allow infected e-mail messages sent to
certain addresses or domains to pass straight through theWebShield SMTP
server. For example, you may want to exclude e-mail messages that are
intended for a virus specialist within your company.
NOTE: McAfee recommends that you add the e-mail addresses for their
virus research laboratories (shown on page xvii) to the addresses that
you want to exclude from scan operations, to ensure that you can send a
new virus sample to McAfee when discovered, without it being cleaned.
I can read this in the Webshield SMTP documentation. I was wondering is there any registry hack or any other way to exclude a sender for a particular rule.
