We have had a few occasions recently where we have had a problem with one set in a number of sets of web servers.

We have had to stop and restart the problem web servers to correct the problem.

The problem seems to be that although the web server is up and running there are certain services that have not started properly.

Is there a way of automatically checking whether all of the services that should have started actually have.

TIA

There are four application servers each with primary and secondary webi server clusters as the backend - there is a loadbalancer that distributes traffic.

Thanks

I have your 2002 - 2004 conference material and it is very useful - I would really like the 2005 stuff but the above link doesnt work.

Cheers

So, your problem is that you have nodes. Is there any reason to have nodes when you have a load balancer? In my opinion, no.

When we got rid of the secondary nodes, our stability went way up.

You are likely having problems with LoginServer and wiapibroker going haywire.

As for the material, it's there. This board doesn't do a good job with the links. You'll have to cut/paste beginning with the http part.

Thanks - link works this time - cheers

The set up was in place when I arrived - could you expand slightly on why you do not need nodes when we have a load balancer.

Thanks for your assistance on this one and my other query you recently answered.

Thanks again

It's simple what's the point of having BO do load balancing from Primary to Secondary node when you have a Load balancer that could simply be used to balance a bunch of primary nodes.

Very succinctly summed up - and obvious when you put it like that.

Thanks for all your help.
