Well, Webex itself requires a specific software client to be loaded on the client before the session can be initiated - so providing the functionality of Webex without a software load wouldn't even work with Webex...
How about a few more details:
- Are all clients on the same OS? What is it? Linux, Win?
- What kind of connection speed/quality do you want to set as a baseline or that you believe you'll tend to see?
- Who is doing the "presenting"? Just one party, or can the Presenter role be delegated to any user of the conference (as is the case with Webex)
You mention HelpDesk, are you intending to perform remote administration on a client in the session? Or are you just going to show applications (i.e. Powerpoint) in a "viewing" mode.
Your clarification would be most helpful.

Clients could be anything, win, lin, or mac. My need is for a helpdesk solution, I intend to offer remote administration to the client system. I realize that webex installs an activex component and that’s fine.
What I’m trying to avoid is having the client need to:
1. download app to local folder
2. install app answering several questions in the process
3. configure app . yada, yada. Ala pcanywhere.
I would prefer that the client be able to simply browse to my webpage and click on a link to initiate a remote administration session.
Something that will not require any router configuration changes on the client end.

You probably need some sort of Java-based solution where they would click, the java .jar is loaded with expressly designed code to provide this functionality. Wouldn't require that they have anything other than Java run-time, which is pretty much the norm IMHO.
