webdav database backend

Hello all, I am investigateing how to pull this off. I would like to use Apache and mod_dav, but intead of directories I'd like to use a database (Postgresql or MySQL)for the file store. I have googled all over on this and can't seem to find a good tutorial on how to pull it off. Any ideas? There was one thinf I did see on SF mod_dav_psql but that does not seem to be in active development.
