I tried to install a webcam, and just as the installation was about to complete, the computer just restarted instantly.
Now, whenever I try to boot a program that uses sound to run, it won't boot, errors (susually a sound error, when trying Eindows media player, I get the error code: 0xc00d11ba Condition 0x00000000) and crashes the program.

I've tried to remove and reinstall the 'soundcard' drivers supplied, (A onboard? realtec A97) but again, when installing, it errors, and I get the error code: updatedriverforplugandplaydevices (this is inthe top of the window bar) and the code: -536870397

I have also reinstalled Direct X - but nothing has worked.

Has anyone any ideas?

Im not sure what else I can try.

Many thanks in advance, and a Merry Xmas!

Try restoring back to a restore point made before installing the webcam.

Are the drivers for the webcam digitally signed?
