My web server is a domain controller that we have always been able to be view as an independent machine from our desktop computers using the remote desktop connection in XP Pro. No changes were made to the network card on the web server but this morning we stopped being able to see the web server from the desktops. The only machine that can see the web server is another Windows 2000 server that is also a domain controller. When I try to run a tracert to the web server from the desktops it is trying to go through the second Windows 2000 server that can see the web server. After the trace hits that machine it is timing out. The desktops belong to the domain on the second Windows 2000 server. They are connected to files only to that server using DHCP. I need to have FTP access to the webserver to be able to upload data to the websites from my desktop. If anyone has any suggestions as to why my web server can only be accessed by another domain controller I would appreciate it.
