Web Filter

Howdy folks,

Can anyone recommend a piece of software that can filter web sites by specific URl's and by keywords. I need the software to sit on the computer without the user knowing about it so no systray icons and no boxes popping up asking questions and would like it to be password protected. I would simply like the blocked pages to be replaced with a page stating that it has been blocked. I do not need a firewall as such since the computer is connected via a router with built in firewall. Ideally, I would like the software to be freeware but if anyone knows of a reasonably priced one then please suggest this also. One last thing that is desirable but not essential is, I would like to be able to manage the filter lists from another machine that is networked with the one in question.

I know you're probably all thinking 'He doesn't want much' but if anyone can suggest anything I'd be very grateful

Have you thought about a proxy server?
Can be a very cheap piece of hardware......I amnt too sure about th actual software though.perhaps a linux box?

on the top right hand side you will see protect your self from spywear. click on that.it takes you to a page with good write ups and link to pages offering free blocking and spy removal ect programs.
i have used lots of programs ive found from here.
