You need to get some documentation on web interface. Also, if this is to be accessed from outside of a secured network you want to use secure gateway as well. There is a very good document for secure gateway, secure gateway administrators guide that can help get you started. The idea of secure gateway is you can use SSL to access all your applications and would not require port 1494 be opened to your secure environment.
