web browsing speed is very slow

Hi,

Today I got my web browsing speed very slow, I ran scans for NAV Corporate 9, Microsoft A. Spyware, Ad-Aware, and Spybot. But could not find any thing. I tried to use Firefox for browsing too, but no joy.

Any ideas...

try a multitude of sites, make sure it's not a pb with your connection or your ISP first!

try to find a bandwidth detector tool in your neck of the woods!!

It is surely a problem is there in PC, np in ISP.

Hi, just to confirm that the problem is with your PC, download the bandwidth tester firefox extension.

Uninstall any browser toolbar you may have installed too, I've seen very bad things with these "utiliries"....

I uninstalled Yahoo & MSN toolbars from the system and ran Bandwidth test, result is as follows:

Bandwidth: 485.2 kilobits per second

Communications 485.2 kilobits per second
Storage 59.2 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 17.3 seconds
Subjective rating Not bad

Badwidth mentioned above looks amazing to me now, because I am not getting surfing speed as compared to B.W.

Hi, have you run a scan to find adware, spyware?

This may be your problem. Did you installed a download accelerator?
