Hello

Is there any way to configure/administrate the IP500 using a web based tool? (As in accessing the IPO using http:\\etc). With the release of 6 there is System Status via the web inteface, but are there any plans to fully integrate the Manager into the web-interface?

No you can't and i hope it never will be possible !!!

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Web interfaces just aren't made for programming phone systems. That said, I think the devconnect site has some scripts or code for making basic User admin changes through a web interface.

Yeah, Manager does too much to go web based, I imagine the web commands utilise the Set/Get commands that VM uses in play configuration menus/Generic etc :)

CM has a web interface so I guess they will go the same way one day (when I am retired I hope) with IP Office.

They are working on making some changes available via an HTTP interface in the next version (or two) but it will not be full Manager functionality, already in the works. This would primarily be for a basic administrator to do things like reset voicemail passwords and change usernames.

If you can use the information on devconnect you can build a web portal to change some basic details.

IP Office Configuration Web Service and SDK

The IP Office Configuration Web Service enables System Integrators and Independent Software Vendors to incorporate robust configuration changes in their solutions via a web service interface, expressing configuration changes via an XML document. The web service enables changes to be made to the following IP Office entities:

User
Group
Subsets of the available fields are supported for each entity that fulfil the majority of use-cases.

The IP Office Configuration Web Service SDK includes programmer documentation, a sample client test harness, sample host application and DLLs. The SDK is available for download from the appropriate Release Contents page: follow the link under Release History below.

Technically and from a software developers point of view there is no reason not to build a webbased management tool with all options as the manager has today.
The only reason not to build one can only be a commercial one, are the costs to build a webbased application worth it? Can we sell more IPO with a webbased interface?
I think not so there will be no webbased manager just because there is no need for it, not technically and not commercially.
