Hi

When using web based email, like Mail2web.com, do log files or any temporary files remain on your computer after sending or receiving email. I am wondering if an administrator can read the emails I send and receive when I am using web based mail. If so, how do I delete things so they cannot read my mail?

Thanks
Alabina

I'm sure I answered this just recently, but can't seem to find it now....

The system administrator can do many things including (but not limited to) monitoring every packet of information in real time as it goes to your computer. This is within the company's rights as they own the hardware that you are using. If you don't want the admin to see what you're doing - don't do it.

Howdy:

The System Admin doesn't need to see what is on your system as they have the ability to see everything that goes from your system through the central server.

If you've been using your work computer for personal business, you've already been caught with everything logged and available.

Thanks. I kind of figured as much. I was just testing the waters before trying to read my email from the a web based email program.

Just going to expound on this a bit.. depending on how good your IT Dept. is, they can actually "take over" your system and control it from their system. They cxan also bounce on and see EXACTLY what you are doing..

I know.. I run the HVAC system for my building from my system and OUR IT guru took over my system and opened the control program to show someone else just what the HVAC program could do..

All I could do was sit back and watch what he was doing.. I had NO control..
