I hope this is the right forum. If you think there's a better one, please let me know [smile]

Does anyone know if there's a device out there that runs Windows CE as its OS, but is wearable, wirelessly connects to a network, and has a barcode scanner attached to it?

We're currently using the Symbol WSS1040 ( units for warehousing purposes, but it's extremely cumbersome to set up, and we want to start using apps with a more up to date GUI interface on them (the WSS unit is character based, and connects you to a server via a telnet session; I envision connecting through a browser instead).

thx,
.DaviD.

We went from Symbol scanners to using ASUS 620BT PDA's,(bluetooth is built in) you can get a network Flash Card (or I believe the Asus 7 something has that built in) and we use the Cordless Hand Scanner (class 2 - more expensive but better scanning results) from Socket Communications. This is working well for our needs.

I also use Visual CE to create the database that stores the barcodes and other data collected on an inventory item.

Here are the links to check these products out:

ASUS PDA: Socket Com Cordless Hand Scanner: Syware's Visual CE Database:
I hope this helps you. The combination of these three products has simplified our scanning process considerably for all concerned.
