WCCP on 6500/MSFC Native IOS

Don't know if I should post here or in the router forum, but here goes.

Does anyone have any 'real life' experience with enabling WCCP in a 6500 running Native IOS. I seem to get conflicting reports from my vendor on how this will impact performance. I am not up to the 12.1.13E level and will need to do outbound re-direction. My concern is that by enabling WCCP on the output interfaces all traffic on that interface will need to be passed to the MSFC for software switching and would drive the processor utilization through the roof.
