What's the difference between a wcbri station and data mod? I'm trying to connect to a cisco router for a dial backup scenario and we don't seem to be getting very far. Should this have been a BRI trunk instead? -CL
I would use the data module no the station. If you use the station for the WCBRI it expects an Avaya BRI station to be connected. Button maps etc are then assumed for the BRI station. If you set it for a data module you can use a plain BRI port for you set type. This will almost always work. Hope this helps
Hi
If you use station WCBRI - just enable data-module on first page and make some data-module extension number on the last page - will work. If you will use data-module form for Cisco router it will be right . I think the difference in that you couldn't make a voice call from/to data-module.
I have one problem about cisco back-up with bri port . It works sometimes , but many times it`s status I saw is disconnect. I use data module as wcbri. Is that more right that to use bri extension and last page data module ?
I'm setup as datamod but am recieveing "invalid SPID" from the cisco router. The SPID is setup as the 4 digit extension on the datamod form and my cisco guy has that 4 digit number setup on the cisco side. Any ideas? -CL
Don't forget to put the channel number for the spid on the Cisco side. IE: station 1234 with port 00 assigned to the spid would be 123400 on the Cisco spid setup.
Another question, what is the switch type to use?
I'm assuming since this is a Lucent product, it would be a 5ess, but is it 5ess Point to Point or 5ess Point to Multipoint. I'm trying to interface the definity with a polycom video conferencing unit myself..
