Does anyone know of a single device that would serve the function of both an external (warehouse) line ringer as well as a paging device or an ICS system?

Thanks

i've used a valcom speaker for that, bringing speaker leads off of a 2008, page was a voice icm, key 0 was an mcr on the main number

Hi John.

Thanks for your response.

Forgive my ignorance but I'm not very telecom savvy term wise.

Would you please tell me what you mean by "2008", and "key 0 as an mcr"

Sorry but I appreciate your help.

2008 is low end digital set, with key 0 programed and mcr xxxx, multi call ring, when the line rings, that goes out over a paging speaker, if that same set has a voice icm, anyone with an icm button can voice page. find a telephone man with a few years under his belt and he'll understand the wireing and programing. one of us will post the code if you decide to go that way.. this may not be a good starter progect

Isn't the ICS a Norstar product. I think they have pairs assigned for this in the 0x32 unit.

if that's the case, ics[/b} !!! i need to read post more carefully and management needs to move over to the norstar forum

Well that just shows you my knowledge level - it is indeed Norstar - but I didn't know there was a difference between the two.

My applogies.

Programming the units is the basic difference. Look in the install manuals for the correct pinouts of the 25pr cable. I believe it is the second 25 pr for stations. if you cann't find it I'll dust of some of my CD collection and locate the information on Monday.

bad thing about norstar, the newer versions changed quite a bit since i installed them, we have a few hung out on lineside t1's and i have to make basic changes from time to time, i can still peck my way through the screen and add a did or change ring or names.. but the pro's on that system live accros the hall in their forum.. i did modify a norstar set for almost the same thing but it was almost 20 years ago. btw when i worked on those cd's were not part of the equation. i still have the books (somewhere) usually on the same shelf as my 1a3 and rolm manuals
