We frequently get a question in this forum: "how can I see what is in my log file?" The stock answer is "you can't", because Microsoft didn't really intend for you to view the log file; its purpose was simply to allow recovery and restoration.
Trouble is, if some idiot (like me, a time or two) deleted all rows from one table, you'd have to restore the entire database, including all tables, to recover. Not a good thing.
A new product called Log Explorer has been released by Lumigent Technologies. You can read a review of it here:
I haven't used the product, but I've read the review, and it looks like something most of us need in our toolbox. About a thousand bucks US; not cheap, but a pittance when the need arises.
