I've got a G3r 9.5 and Octel Aria 250. I can't use messaging skill commands in my vectors.

Am I correct in thinking that I need to add an entry of "msa" to the AUDIX-MSA NODE NAMES screen. Then change the "Message Center: none" entry on the second page of my Voicemail hunt group form to "msa"?

What about the "LWC Reception: none" entry? Also, the "Messaging Server Name:" entry is currently blank on my VM hunt group.

I have Octel's config note 5400 for FLT-A integration but the doc doesn't offer any help on this issue. Also, I haven't been able to find anything on Avaya's web site.

Is this a service affecting or a big deal to change?

Anybody ever have to deal with this?

They are service affecting changes in the hunt group.

What you might want to do instead of messaging split X number YYYY, is a route-to step instead to a phantom (portless) station extension number that covers to the Octel system immediately.

This will substitute for the Messaging split command.

Also if your next question is that the extensions already exist and all you want to do is send the call directly to voice mail, then perhaps you might be able to trick the voice mail with this as well.

If the station ports on the phone system have a name display like 1234, Jones, George, then the intigration looks at the name display and weeds out the number to send the caller to the correct mailbox. If this is the case, and you are trying to set up direct to voicemail prompting, then add that new station I mentioned, eg 4567, cover it to voicemail immediately, but give it a station name of "1234, Jones, George, and see if it goes to the 1234 mailbox.

If this works then the route-to command to 4567 will send the call to mailbox 1234 directly.

Just a thought!!!

Good morning Netcon1!

Thanks much for the advice, however, I still think I'm going to have to change to Message Center: msa. I need the messaging skill command for the Octel fax app where you can make voice messages and faxes go to the same mailbox. The fax DID is a VDN you alias in your mailbox profile, then in the Definity point the VDN to the one step vector, "messaging skill XX for extension active". Bang zoom - fax messages in your voice mailbox. Then you can use as your web viewer for faxes and messages.

Great idea about using the display field, didn't think of that one before. But in my case my ports are set up as 7405ND so the display isn't really used to route the call.

Maybe somebody else out there has attempted this type of conversion and will see my post. Anybody out there ever work for Avaya Pro Services?

Thanks again brothers and sisters...
