Waking OSX on remote ftp login

I would like to connect to my iMac via FTP but I think it ignores me when it is asleep. Is there a way to have FTP connections wake the Mac or do I need to set the Energy Saver to never allow the Mac to sleep?

Hi Jimboblack,
In the energy saver I use :
Put the system to sleep : never
Seperate time for display: 15min
And I check the box to allow the HD to spin down. I haven't seen anything like "Wake on Lan" which would do what we need
