Waiting for LLDP issue, only on new handsets

Hi,

We suplied a customer with some new 9611G handsets and the ones that we originally supplied all work fine but the new ones are saying, 'waiting for LLDP'. They were working fine for the last 4 months but now the newer handsets are randomly saying, 'waiting for lldp.'

Please can someone let me know why only these handsets might be affected?

Are the IP values set manually on the existing phones and the new ones are using DHCP without option 242?

I see this when the 96xx sets don't know where the call server is. Check to make sure your Option 242 is setup in your DHCP.
 
Disable LLDP on the switch. If they are Cisco disable CDP as well (assuming you aren't using CDP for something else)
