For three years my backups have been running successfully until last week.
I use one volume each week to contain my full backup on Wednesdays, and incrementals for all other days of the week.
I am now receiving the message "waiting for 1 writable backup tape(s)". This backup runs on a jukebox holding 9 tapes, with 2 or 3 tapes that are always in a "recyclable" mode so Networker should be able to select the next available volume without hesitation. It doesn't!!!!
There currently is an appendable volume in the tape drive, but Networker refuses to use the volume unitl I manually mount the volume every day!
This problem started out of the blue for no reason. The server has not changed (hardware and software) in years so things should run as usual.
Has anyone else seen this problem where the volumes stopped mounting automatically?
I have stopped and started the services on the box, but the problem still exists.
Your thoughts???
