I have a 4Gb drive with full Broadband access. Over the last week I have been getting "disc full" error messages.

Booting the system in the normal manner shows that Program Files take up 1.9Gb and W98 takes up 2.0Gb, and I get the "disc full" error message

If I then physically disconnect the Broadband cable from my system and reboot then Program Files take up 1.9Gb but W98 takes up 609Mb!!

I have performed a full SpyBot scan but nothing is found; a full Norton AV finds no viruses; a full Scandisc finds no problems and reinstalling W98 has provided no positive effect

What should I do now?

Many thanks, RJPH

RJPH - after disconnecting broadband and reclaiming the space, if you reboot with it connected again, do you immediately get the disk full message? If not, what is the space situation.

btw - did you try the app I linked in your original thread (thread615-791778)?

To DIOGENES10:
Thank you for your reply - have carried out all your actions as detailed in your FAQ's but my system has shown no improvement. Disc full when physically attached to Broadband modem - disc 1.3Gb free space when not attached to Broadband modem

To WOLLUF:
Your app DISKdata very usefull and thoroughly recommended - and thank you

Disc full with WINDOWS folder @ 2GB when system booted when physically attached to Broadband modem. But disc has 1.3Gb free space with WINDOWS folder @ 609Mb when system booted and not physically attached to Broadband modem

However, if system booted without Broadband modem and then subsequently I plug in the modem without rebooting, then system still shows 1.3Gb free space - so it must be something to do with the bootup sequence when attached to the Broadband modem that causes the disc to be full

Thanks again, RJPH
