W97M.Trug.A disabled my Word Macro menu! pls help..

Hi,

I have 4-5 users got hit today by W97M.Trug.A

I managed to clean the **** virus but one of it's payloads is that he disables the Macro Menu in Word2000.

so when I open Word I can see the menu but not use it....
I un-installed Office twice with no success

Anyone know on what registry or file is this setting is being kept?

I don't know anything about this virus but I've seen something similar from a VBA virus.

Firstly try resetting the toolbars. Go VIEW>TOOLBARS>CUSTOMIZE and select the Toolbar tab. Select the Menu Bar toolbar and click reset. This should do the job.

THis may seem strange to suggest but the next thing is to try resetting the toolbar through code

Hit ALT+F11 then in the immediate window (usually at the bottom of the screen, hit CTRL+G if it's not there) copy this line in and hit enter
