Several months ago we had a W2K server crash. There was nor restoring it and we had to installed a new W2k server just to boot the machine. We now have a dual boot dos screen and W2K in 2 places, WINNT and WINNT01.

2 questions:

Can we del the WINNT dir without causing problems? It seems like we can, but I hesitaate axing an OS (even a dead one) without a second opinion.

How do we remove the dual boot screen? I have searched C: drive for a boot.ini and can't find one.

Thanks in advance!

right-click on "My Computer" and select "Properties." Click on the "Advanced" tab, and choose "Startup and Recovery." You should have an option to uncheck the box that says "Display a list of OSs for ___ seconds." You can either set that time period really low, or just uncheck the box. Since boot.ini is a hidden file and a system file, you probably won't see it.... go to the "Rub" prompt and type notepad c:\boot.ini... you will then be able to edit it if you're comfortable with that....

sorry, that the "RUN" prompt..... not the "Rub" prompt.....
