I'm trying to install w2k on an older system with a megaraid ultra scsi controller. i have 3 4gb drives attached and no matter how i setup them up in bios when i run the w2k install the system reboots as soon as it gets ready to format the drive. i have setup as raid 5 and even raid 0. i have tried loading the megaraid driver and not loading it. for some reason setup wants to see the first drive (in raid 0) or the logical drive (raid 5) as 120gb instead of 4gb or 8gb.
the system had been previously running w2k (upgraded from 4.0) before a drive crashed and a memory upgrade. i figured i'd start from scratch and now can't get anywhere. HELP.

Step 1 ) Throw away the old drives. I might be understanding you incorrectly, but how can you recover from a drive crash and still be using old drives?

Step 2) Get some 20 GB Seagate Barracuda drives for $30/each

I think you can take it from here

Its a problem with NTFS on drives smaller than 20GB in raid configurations.

You need bigger drivers to install Win2k - 20Gb Min

Originally I had 4 drives only one tested bad. I tried reinstalling 4.0 instead, but it hangs when trying to convert to NTFS. I'm going to try installing as FAT than converting to NTFS, than upgrading to W2k. It was running 2000 fine before the drive went bad. I'm only using it to host our intranet.
