W2K pro Versus the Win95 pc...........

I need a little assistance with a problem I’m having with a win95 client and a W2KPro client. Here’s the layout....

Small office, 4 pcs using an internet gateway/hub to access the internet as well as assign them ip addresses and share files.

pc1-W2KPro
pc2 and pc3-win98se
pc4-win95

all have the same workgroup, protocols, ip scope, subnet mask and dns. all pcs can ping each other, all get to the Internet, here’s the but...pc1 cant see pc4 and pc4 cant see pc1..however pc2 and pc3 see everyone. this is one that has been up my rear for three days now I’ve tried everything, any assistance is greatly appreciated

So PC1&4 can both see PC2&3? When you say can't see - you mean in network neighborhood/my network places? Have you tried searching for the other PC (using start search or find facilities)? What if you try something like typing \\pc1\sharename at a run prompt on pc4? How does the 'internet gateway/hub to access the internet ' work?

They are not showing up in the Network Neighborhood and I haven't tried a unc path, I will, but as far as the internet goes they have a cable modem which assigns them thier ip addresses. I hope that answered your last question....Thanks for responding

Known bug(M$:Feature), try a clean re-install of W95 and see if it goes away, sometimes it does ;-)

Just put 2000 on the 95 machine. As long as the CPU is 133MHz or better, and there is at least 64 MB RAM, it'll work. If it can't meet those specs, put 98se on it. Hope I was of some help...
