W2K, NDPS Printers and DOS

I'm having a problem getting DOS-based programs to print from W2K after capturing the NDPS printer to LPT1:...it appears to print, but no job ever comes out of the printer, let alone show up in the queue.
Does anyone have any kind of a fix or workaround for this problem?
