W2K Client Profile Lockdown

Using NT 4 server and W2K client, I want to lock up everything on the computer but the mail. We use Exchange local and a few stations have Internet mail through a remote Exchange server.

I tried using a managed profile, but the email settings don't follow the user.

I don't want the user to add software or change the desktop, but have their own mail settings.

Any ideas, thanks

regarding outlook
iirc there's additional profile stuff to make outlook settings roam.

Thanks browolf, there is a lot here. Leans it self towards NT4 and lot of registry editing, but very interesting.
