I am about to build a new w2k server. I have a alcatel speed touch 4 port router that acts as a dhcp and dns server.

How can I configure my w2k server and active directory to take IP address from my router.
any help would be great

many thanks in advance

Are you sure you want your Domain Controller to have a dynamic address?

You will have to configure the router to act as a DHCP server with a valid scope, etc.,

Right click My Network Places - choose Properties
Right click the conneciton icon associated with your NIC - choose Properties.
Highlight TCP/IP - choose Properties.
Select the radio button for Obtain an IP Address Automatically.

Have Fun! [ponytails2]
