Hi all,

I unhappy with my arcserve backup. I want a very easy solution and I have a big problems.

I have only 3 servers: W2K3 SP2 with Arcserve and tape, W2K3 SP2 and W2K SP4.

With the first server I get a file transfer rate of 2000 MB/Min. all OK.

With the second, if the arcserve gets files by "arcserve windows agent" I get a tranfer rate of 30 MB/Min, if arcserver gets files by windows network I get a transfers rate of 300 MB/Min, I don't know what it's happening.

And with the third server, if arcserve gets files by "arc windows agent" the transfer rate go down to 10MB/min or 1MB/min and finally it fails. I get files by windows network the third server reboots.

I have installed Arcserve v11.5 SP3, the agents are in the same revision, I have installed "windows agents", and "windows open files agents".

Can anybody help me? Please.

If I understand a local backup is fast and all network backups are slow.

ck to see if the NIC & SCSI controllers on the ARCserve server share IRQ, if so swap slots so they don't.
Try setting the NIC to half duplex.
Try setting the Client Agent to low priority.
Try setting the virus detection app to disable outgoing.
Ck logging at the switch for errors and to see if they are on the ARCserve server side or the target side.
Network Monitor can also be used to ck for errors.
