Greetings,

We have a Sun Fire V480 on which we were trying to run extended POST - diag-switch=true; diag-level=menus - with output to a VT320 terminal.

The VT320 has been set up correctly, the extended POST menu had displayed with the option to select one from the list.

OK so far...

However, no matter what key is pressed on the VT320, nothing happens - no STOP-A, BREAK, F5, etc. - nothing works.

A thread on Sunmanagers indicated that switching the terminal off and on would send a "BREAK" but this hasn't worked either.

What we're left with is a V480 with two monitors attached - the normal one and the VT320 console. Because the output is being sent to the VT320, we can't get break out of the VT320/get back to the normal monitor.

Any suggestions?

When we reboot - how do we get back to the normal screen?

Kindest regards,

James

Greetings,

This has been sorted.

It was an incompatible cable resulting in one-way communication from the V480 to the VT320.

Kindest regards,

James
