VSS/VFP on new computer - registry problems

I just tried using a product called PC Relocator to move from one XP machine to another. VFP and VSS both came across but the linkage between them is screwed. When I open a VSS project in VFP I get an "unspecified registry error has occurred" error, and the project opens without VSS icons. I was of course hoping to save my VFP settings but it looks like I will have to reinstall VSS or VFP or both. Thought I would ask if anyone has a better solution?

jhalloran,

You could try exporting the registry keys having to do with VFP and VSS from the computer you came from and then running the resultant .reg file(s) on the new machine. With just a little luck you may be able to fix the problem without reinstalling and losing your settings. I would certainly make a backup of the registry before attempting this. What worries me more is that if those settings are screwed up in the registry then what's not to say that other portions of the registry aren't also messed up? Would definately shake my confidence in the new machine and the viability of that applicaiton you used to move everything from one machine to the other.
