Hi

I am ordering Visual Studio.NET and wondering which version i need to get for integrating with VSS. Professional Version or Enterprise Edition. Our team is small, only a few developers. How much advantage can we get for steeping up and getting enterprise solution?

thanks

Hi,
To get VSS, you have to buy the Enterprise edition. IMO, the extra cost is well worth it. On top of what you get in VS Pro, the Enterprise edition has MSDE (the no-UI version of SQL Server with a limited # of licenses), which is really nice if you'd like to dabble in database development or don't want to buy SQL Serve for everyone on your team. The Enterprise edition also includes all of the Enterprise Servers (Win2K, Exchange, Commerce, and Host Integration Servers). I'm looking at my box now. It also includes Visio modeling and some enterprise features for big teams that I never use but might someday.
