This problem occurs when rendering aspx page on a IE7-XP machine. Works fine when rendered on IE6-XP and IE6-W2K machines. And they look fine on my development box which is running IE6-XP.

The problem is... As soon as textbox is rendered on the screen its back ground color turns yellow! (Selecting it and typing text in it has no effect. Text is displayed in black on a yellow background..)

Focus is not set to this textbox.
Even happens with background color set to lightgrey!
And on intermittent textboxes as well, on 1 screen 1 out of 12.

Anythought's???
Thanks
David

I think what you are seeing is not IE7 or XP... it is an installation of "Google Tool Bar" for IE that is installed on the client pc.

"Google Tool Bar" has a feature called AutoFill and it turns any text box that it has autofill information for to a shade of yellow.

From the "Google Tool Bar" Help:
How do I edit and use AutoFill?

To edit and use AutoFill, please follow the steps below for your version of Toolbar.

Tip: When using AutoFill, please be mindful of the information you're providing. It's important that you use this feature only on sites you trust, as certain sites might try to capture your information in hidden or hard-to-see fields. If you're unsure about what information you're providing, press the Shift key while clicking the AutoFill button to see your data before it's entered into the form.

For Google Toolbar 4.0:

Click the Settings button on your Toolbar.
Select Options from the drop-down menu.
Check the box next to AutoFill if it isn't checked already.
Click the AutoFill Settings... button.
Edit your information as necessary.
Click OK.

For Google Toolbar 3.0:

Click the Options button on your Toolbar.
Check the box next to AutoFill if the box is not checked already.
Click the AutoFill Settings... button.
Edit your information as necessary.
Click OK.

Once you've completed these steps, you can click the AutoFill button when you see a yellow form field on a webpage, and AutoFill will complete the form with your information.

Thank you very much....

are you using the google (or some other) toolbar? sometimes if they implement autofill they'll colour the background of a form field in yellow if they have a value you could use.

just an idea, if it is true i think it's something you'll have to learn to live with.

if the idea really bothers you, just consider that IE7 allows for a user to use their own stylesheet and they can therefore change the colour of every single object on their screen. the fiends!

good luck.
