Using Veritas 9.1 Rev 4691 on a windows 2000 server
Just installed a Quantum vs160 tape drive to replace an older internal tape unit.
Quantum unit appears to be working fine.
I have run backups successfully, some of the time. For example, I ran a backup Tuesday night that went to a 111,825,941,426 byte count which fit on one tape.
Thursday nights job apparently 112Gb+ byte count apparently is requiring 2 tapes. Which is a problem since no one is here when it requests the second tape.
I was told that the vs160 would hold 160G. When I set up the tapes and selected the media types, I have to choose SDLT1(1800ft,110GB) since VS160 doesnot show up. I am assuming that this is the problem. I think the SDLT1 can only fit 110GB, true?
Does anyone know if there is a patch/update that will add the vs160 to the media types.
Thanks.
Steve
