Hi,

I have two types of VPN connections;
Connection A that does not allow local LAN access in order to get full privileges at the remote site and connection B that does allow local LAN access but has restricted privileges on the remote site.
I am using a Windows XP, ver. 5.1 SP1 workstation.

When I am connected with connection A my workstation becomes extremly slow. Slower than can be considered to be normal because of the necessary encryption processes. Even though I shut all local LAN based programs down and disconnect all maps to drives on the local LAN.

I think that the workstation is trying to use some background resources from the local LAN with no success of course.
Is that a likely explanation? If so, how can I track what resources the workstation is trying to use? Is there some known way around this problem? Is there some other explanation?

With regards,
Erlendur, Iceland.
