VPN stalling internet

I can connect perfectly fine to my VPN server running Win 2k server on cable using my 56k dial-up connection on the client. However, whenever the VPN connection is connected all other internet services seem to be unavailable although the 56k PPP account is still connected. When I disconnect the VPN all internet returns to normal. Any ideas?

Hey, we had this same problem when connected to the vpn my connection stoped, like as if the packets never make it out of the default_route 0.0.0.0 .

This is definatly a routing problem i would suspect since my connection is normally handled by my router and as soon as the vpns ip is out of the routing table the packets are routable again.
