VPN Softphone? 1

Does anyone know of a workaround to get IP Softphone R3 (or other) to work over VPN? It appears that the software is looking at the PC's IP stack to determine the PC's physical IP address. It's then having the CLAN board attempt to communicate with the PC's IP address rather than the VPN local IP address assigned by the VPN client. It appears the only way to get this working is if I can somehow tell the softphone what my VPN address is rather than having it incorrectly determine the NIC's address on it's own. -CL

R3 does not work. It may work with Release 2 plus the addition of a patch. If you can't find the patch I would happy to send it to you. The patch is for use in conjuctions with Cisco products. NAT works, ... VPN I have not tried it. I do know however, I worked on this yesterday, that VPN and R3 softphone will not work. I asked when it would be supported and was told "no active work being done to support it". Hope this helps

Thanks for the info and please send me the patch for R2. I really didn't see any added functionality for R3 anyway. I'll give the patched R2 VPN configuration a shot and let you know. chris.lopes@educate.com
