Hello,
I currently operate out of my home computer (XP Pro) which is networked with another computer using a Linksys router and up to the Internet through DSL (dynamic ip address from DSL provider).
I am planning on moving my operations to a new office, but still want to be able to connect to the office computer out of my home network. The office network will most likely be DSL as well.
So from my research, it looks like the setup would be as follows:
Home Network <--> Linksys Router <--> VPN over DSL <--> VPN Router <--> Office Network
My initial questions are as follows
1) Do I need a static IP on both/single/none of the ends?
2) I was looking at a Linksys VPN router on the office end, does the home router need to be a VPN router as well? My current Linksys router is a fairly older model and doesn't have VPN
3) Is doing a VPN better than putting the office computer outside the DMZ zone and connecting via XP Remote Connection?
Thanks.
