Hi,

Could anyone help me with a few clarifications on VPN's. I am trying to set up VPN access to my server 2000. I only want clients to have to connect with as little work as possible. IE. I dont want them to have to have pre share keys or something like that. I have read information and PPTP server sounds to be the go. I basically want my 2000 server to sit there listening for connections and accepting when a user connects using a windows xp new connection wizard configured to VPN. I have been reading through help in server 2000 and it says you can set up PPTP in "Routing and remote acces" in server 2000. I have had a play in there but cant seem to connect. I have a dlink router which was supposed to have pptp conections which I got to work but NO ENCRYPTION with dlinks router. I talked to dlink and they basically said sorry it doesnt support encryption with pptp. I need a little help in setting this thing up. I have played around in the RRAS and I can see the wan miniports pptp but i dont know how to set usernames and passwors and if I have the right ports open in the firewall. I have port 1723 open but I have read that 47 IP needs to be open???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou
