Here is some background: Headquarters T1 Internet Access
Goes to an internal 10.1.1.xx ISP, Sonicwall XPRS VPN. Remote location, Win XP Sonicwall VPN Client 8.0 connectecs to the same ISP through a wireless internet service. The VPN will not connect because when you ping an internal address at headquarters it seems to be dropping inside the ISP's network and not know where to come back out. Any suggestions?

Just spent 4 grueling days with a similiar situation. The cable company, Road Runners (N.Y.C, NY) states they do not block any part of VPN transmissions. Well at some point they are filtering. We managed to get the VPN going by trying every conceiveable proposal. Sonicwall box to box, I had to use an SA without authentication; meanwhile at another client site using a fractional T1, I never had a problem. The filtering only involved the Ipsec authenication. Someone else set up a group VPN with proposal 1 as DES/SHA1, I think the #2 was strong encryption/authentication 3DES/MD5. I would suggest getting another Sonic box or a Linksys VPN box.
Getting a VPN going can be the definition of Hell on Earth
