Vpn problem ping lost but the VPN don't disconnects

I have a problem I have two LANs both with Win2K Server and both using PPTP VPN. One is configured as a VPN server(the one with a fixed IP public address) and the other just as client. The VPN connections starts working just fine but when the cennnection arrives between 15-20 mins the ping command starts to tell me "packets lost" but the VPN window in both SERVER and CLIENT don't disconnects, It seems it doesn't get aware of disconnection and if I close the connection manually the Client can't to connect again. until I release with IPConfig the RAS Dial in adapter that the VPN created.

Anyone have the same trouble.

Please I have 3 weeks with this problem driving me mad.
