Two months ago I began working from my home by accessing my office through Citrix. I have a DI-624 Wireless Router and have a home network established. I connect through local hi-speed Internet cable.
About a month ago, I noticed that when I logged in to Citrix, I had to wait 7 minutes before my machine "caught up" to me. In other words, my pointer was moving on my desktop, however when I double-clicked on an icon, nothing would happen. After 7 minutes was up, I was up and running like lightening.
Two weeks later, the 7 minute wait-time moved to 10 minutes. Again, the same problem, however it took 10 minutes before I could begin working.
Now I'm up to a 30 minute wait-time.
Nothing has changed in my home network nor has my cable service changed (at least the cable compnay assured me it hasn't). I get no help from my company's "help desk" other than 'not one of the other 15 remote users is experiencing anything like this so it must be my router' kind of remarks.
Can anyone offer any suggestions on what might be causing this?
I called my cable company today and discovered that there is no limit on VPN access and I have a Dynamic Link which every 2 hours or so I receive a new OP address. I have not had many problems with disconnectivity (at least those I can live with). It's the sluggishness in getting started that is frustrating me!!
Thanks for any help.
