VPN connection problem

I have a PC that is connected to a router that gives it a 192.168.0.6 address.
The router is connected to ADSL line.
So far so good.
Now when I try to connect to my company through PPTP VPN I have a problem.
In win2000 I get IP of 10.9.0.8 with mask 255.255.255.255 that is ok.
But on win98 I get mask of 255.0.0.0 of calss-A (I cannot connect to any thing because of this).
How can I fix the problem on the win-98.
