VPN connection keep dropping

I have a netscreen10a at the corp office and have a user setup with a netscreen5xp at a remote location. He is running a xp pro computer. All of the sudden after 2 years of the VPN working perfectly the connection now starts to drop randomly. about 3 times a day. I wasnt the one who orginaly setup this VPN and have only successfully setup one other VPN before. Can someone tell me to successfully troubleshoot this issue.

Is the user running NSR (Netscreen Remote) of is this a Site to Site VPN? Tunnel (Route) VPN or Policy based?
